We've been working on the most recent iterations of the Catvisu line for quite a few months now. In the past, we've done most of the items separately and with different collections, but this time we're planning to have all of them together at once.
All items use entirely new handpainted artwork. The denim bottoms specifically feature new front cats and a new arched back cat. Previous versions of Catvisu we're a little more playful so we thought it might be nice to balance the playfulness with something more current to the brands alignment.
The fifth version of the jeans features a handful of changes outside of the artwork itself. They're still wide leg, but the rise has been changed from high to mid. We also changed the printing method from the last few iterations to match the earlier versions and their colors. The recent versions used screenprinting and it was super crisp but wore down easier. These will also feature a brand new vertical leather belt tag, new woven labels, gray contrast stitching, a new washing method, YKK zippers, and much more.
The wrap skirt returns as it's third edition. This version reintroduces the pleats found on version one that were removed on version two. It includes all the above details found on the newest version of the jeans as well as a reformatted waist closure system with more buttons and openings, the removal of the coin pocket, and a few other key changes.
The jorts return with all the same features as the jeans as well.
We're also introducing two new tees and a tote bag. These three items share the same artwork of two cats sitting together with the brand wordmark. The tees have a traditional fit and have details like single-stitched hems and sleeves, plastisol prints, woven labels, and weigh around 220gsm.
The tote bag comes as a semi-gusseted, dual strap bag made of heavyweight cotton jersey. We chose this material over traditional canvas for it's slouchiness and ability to curl around the handheld slit pocket.
All items are cut and sewn. We used no blanks whatsoever.
The collection is coming very soon. We've been dialing all the details since production started almost two months ago. We're incredibly excited to get them into your hands.
The original reference to Catvisu is kinda in the name. Cat and -visu.
Catvisu has always held a special place at ANGELtype. It's been inspired by not only the owner's (me) cats but also all the lovely cats they've been graced with meeting.
Love Cece. Love Bruno. Cats forever.
